Production Process Engineer

Enchem America, Inc. is seeking a Production Process Engineer to support and optimize our NMP (N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone) recovery and purification operations. The NMP refining process operates 24 hours nonstop, requiring reliable oversight and continuous process management. This role is ideal for an experienced chemical engineer with a background in refining or chemical manufacturing, particularly within the battery or petrochemical industry.

What is NMP?

N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) is a solvent used in the coating process of lithium-ion battery manufacturing. Enchem America collects waste NMP generated during battery production, refines it, and resells the purified material—contributing to cost efficiency and environmental sustainability in the battery supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate, maintain, and improve refinery process systems

Analyze system performance and troubleshoot technical issues

Identify and implement cost-saving and process optimization initiatives

Ensure compliance with internal standards and environmental/safety regulations

Analyze process data and prepare technical reports

Collaborate closely with production, quality, and other cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a related industry

Strong understanding of thermodynamics and refining operations

Prior experience in refinery processes is highly preferred

Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is required

Willingness and ability to work on a rotating shift schedule as needed

Availability for weekend work may be required depending on production and personnel needs
