Compensation: $140,000-$147,000 annually

Location: Hillsboro, OR (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite weekly)

About the Role:

A valued local client is seeking skilled and experienced System Engineer to support and evolve enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, cloud, and operational technology environments. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring system stability, scalability, and security, while collaborating across departments and contributing to long-term strategic goals.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role that offers technical depth, autonomy, and exposure to leadership and business operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident operating in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage infrastructure solutions across on-premise and cloud environments

Monitor systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability

Identify and resolve complex system issues, including root cause analysis and remediation

Implement and manage monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery tools

Maintain accurate documentation and system configurations

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors on infrastructure initiatives

Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for improvement

Support security best practices and ensure compliance with internal standards

Participate in occasional on-call rotations for urgent support needs

Required Qualifications:

5-7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar infrastructure-focused role

Strong experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V

Hands-on experience with enterprise storage (e.g., NetApp) and backup technologies

Proficient in scripting or coding using tools such as Bash, Python, or Ruby

Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, system hardening, and high-availability practices

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working in or supporting data center environments

Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools and configuration management

Experience working across cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships

Additional Information:

Location: Based in Hillsboro, OR with hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite per week)

Travel: Up to 25% domestic travel may be required

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
