The Director of Business Development, Florida and Caribbean, will drive the company’s expansion across Florida and the Caribbean, focusing on building strong relationships with clients, architects, designers, and other critical stakeholders. This role will oversee strategic planning, CRM management, event execution, and close collaboration with marketing and operations teams to deliver initiatives that enhance growth and brand visibility. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Business Development, this position plays a pivotal role in achieving the company’s business development goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Referral Source and Stakeholder Engagement
Introduce the company and its offerings to prospective clients, architects, and designers.
Arrange and facilitate meetings with potential partners and collaborators to promote the company’s services.
Serve as the primary liaison for all business development activities in the Florida and Caribbean Market, ensuring consistent communication and timely follow-up.
Organize and maintain a target list of identified target referral sources to track engagement and relationship-building efforts.
Event Planning and Execution
Plan and execute impactful events to showcase the company’s brand and services, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Host at least 2 Major Events for the Caribbean and 1 Major event for Florida in 2025 with 50+ attendees.
Host at least 2 Micro Events for Florida and 2 Micro Events for the Caribbean in 2025 with 15-35 attendees, focused on targeted networking.
Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, attendee invitations, and post-event follow-ups.
Record and update all invitee/attendee details and event-related information in the CRM system for accurate tracking and analysis.
Share all events, meetings, and important activities on the company’s shared calendar to ensure transparency and collaboration.
CRM and Data Management
Manage and maintain the CRM software for Florida and Caribbean, ensuring all leads, opportunities, and interactions are accurately recorded.
Analyze CRM data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights for targeted outreach and strategy refinement.
Prepare an End-of-Year (EOY) analysis summarizing all opportunities, events, and key learnings from the year’s activities.
Collaboration and Strategic Input
Prepare an annual Market Analysis presentation for Florida and Caribbean, providing the executive team with comprehensive data, key insights, and strategic planning recommendations.
Oversee business development activities throughout the bidding process, from market research to contract negotiations. This includes adhering to our evolving BD processes, guiding opportunities through estimation, and collaborating with the operations team to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to prepare tailored submission packages based on insights gathered from the specific market.
Suggest and assist in managing all marketing presentations and media assets, including new and innovative initiatives.
Stay informed on market trends, offering creative ideas and strategic connections to support growth.
Advise the company partners, executive team, and business development teams on suggested travel and meetings to attend based on market intelligence and strategic opportunities.
Meet weekly with the Executive Director of Business Development to share updates, insights, and strategies for growth.
Work closely with business development teams from other territories to share insights, best practices and ensure alignment of global strategies.
Assist the executive team with key business development activities, including client presentations, market research, and strategic planning.
Financial Oversight
Oversee and manage the Florida and Caribbean BD budget, ensuring it aligns with strategic objectives and company goals.
Present detailed budget reports on a monthly basis to provide transparency and insights into spending and ROI.
Provide recommendations for optimizing budget allocations to maximize impact and efficiency.
Sales Goals and Performance Tracking
Work towards yearly sales goals for the markets, developed in collaboration with the Executive Director of Business Development.
Participate in quarterly reviews with the Executive Director of Business Development to assess progress toward sales targets and refine strategies as needed.
Essential Skills/Requirements:
5+ years of relative BD/Marketing experience preferably with construction or real estate development background.
Must be willing to travel
Bachelor's degree in business or related field
Demonstrated track record of increasing revenue through fostering relationships.
