Director Enterprise Architecture

Optomi, in partnership with a venture capital firm scaling retail businesses, is seeking a visionary and execution-oriented Director of Enterprise Architecture & Strategic IT Integrations to lead the evolution of our core enterprise technology stack during a period of rapid growth and M&A activity.

This role requires a leader who can both set strategic direction and roll up their sleeves to work hands-on with internal and external teams to design and implement solutions across ERP, HRIS, CRM, payments, and POS systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of post-acquisition integration, systems consolidation, and enabling operational scalability through technology.

Key Responsibilities

Own the enterprise architecture vision, aligning business strategy with scalable systems design across multiple acquired brands and operational teams.

Lead the post-M&A technology integration process, consolidating and optimizing enterprise systems across finance, HR, retail operations, ecommerce, and supply chain.

Define and drive the long-term IT roadmap, partnering with executive leadership and department heads to ensure alignment with corporate goals and future growth.

Architect and deliver solutions across key enterprise platforms, including ERP systems (NetSuite, IFS, SAP), HRIS platforms (UKG, Workday), CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce), and POS/payment systems supporting omnichannel operations.

Oversee master data management and data architecture strategy, ensuring data integrity across systems and brands.

Act as a solution architect on critical initiatives—translating business needs into technical solutions and guiding internal teams and vendors through delivery.

Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and ongoing management to ensure technology solutions meet performance, cost, and scalability objectives.

Partner with MSPs to support infrastructure needs while maintaining accountability for core enterprise platforms and application performance.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, IT strategy, or systems integration leadership.

Strong hands-on solutioning experience—able to go from whiteboard to execution alongside technical teams.

Strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and knows how to balance big-picture goals with tactical execution.

Industry experience in retail, consumer services, or ecommerce strongly preferred.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across business and technology functions.
