About the Role:
The Senior DevOps Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices across our organization. With a strong emphasis on AWS, this role is responsible for building highly available, resilient, and secure systems that support our fintech platform. You will lead the deployment of infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, support CI/CD pipeline development, and work closely with cross-functional teams—including Development, QA, and Security—to ensure a robust and streamlined software delivery lifecycle. This is a highly impactful opportunity to influence core technology architecture while enabling faster, safer, and more scalable product delivery.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices with a strong emphasis on AWS infrastructure, automation, and scalability.
Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible).
Collaborate with Development, QA, and Security teams to embed DevSecOps practices into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
Design and support highly automated CI/CD build and deployment pipelines on AWS as part of an internal developer platform.
Analyze AWS resource utilization trends and deliver strategic recommendations for optimization, performance, and cost-efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues across environments.
Propose modernization strategies for legacy applications and workflows, moving toward cloud-native architectures and delivery models.
Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation that supports operational excellence.
Mentor junior DevOps engineers, modeling technical best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Keep stakeholders informed through clear, consistent communication and reporting.
Participate in after-hours support rotation and implementation efforts as needed.

Production issues are resolved quickly, with systemic improvements made to prevent recurrence.
Infrastructure usage is cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with growth and performance needs.
Junior engineers are effectively supported and upskilled through mentorship and documentation .
Product, engineering, and operations teams experience faster release cycles and greater stability due to DevOps practices.
The DevOps team is recognized as a trusted, high-impact partner across the business.
Candidate Requirements:
Required
8+ years in a cloud-based (preferably AWS) production environment.
Strong Linux system experience (Red Hat or Oracle Linux preferred).
5+ years of Infrastructure as Code experience in production (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
5+ years of scripting or system programming experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell, or Ruby).
3+ years of managing production infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes.
Proven experience with Puppet and/or Ansible in live environments.
Deep familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, or Bamboo in AWS contexts.
Production experience with Git or similar distributed version control systems.
Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycle principles and 12-factor app methodology.
Ability to clearly articulate infrastructure strategies and technical decisions.
Excellent troubleshooting and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments.
Preferred
AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA or CKAS).
Experience managing Windows Servers in AWS.
Familiarity with open-source tooling and methodology.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise or datacenter environments (100+ servers/VMs).

Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation range: $92,000 - $150,000
