Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager to lead operations, sales, and market development at our new Virginia Beach branch. This is a rare opportunity for a high-energy leader with a passion for growth, field leadership, and operational excellence. The GM must be a true jack-of-all-trades, equally comfortable walking on roofs, leading teams, navigating local networking groups, and closing deals under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Branch Management
Launch, develop, and manage all aspects of a new branch location.
Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing local team across sales, operations, and support.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence aligned with AHC values.
Sales & Business Development
Actively prospect, sell, and close residential projects; lead from the front.
Meet and exceed sales goals while mentoring and motivating your team to do the same.
Establish a local footprint through community networking, event participation, and relationship-building.
Field Expertise
Must be able to safely walk on roofs, set up/operate extension ladders, and understand basic construction workflows.
Oversee job site quality, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with subcontractors, field crews, and internal project teams.
Operations Oversight
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to AHC quality standards.
Monitor performance metrics (sales, production, customer satisfaction, etc.) and implement process improvements.
Oversee CRM accuracy and enforce clear communication protocols across the team.
Qualifications
5+ years in a management role within construction, home improvement, roofing, or a related industry.
Strong sales background with proven ability to close deals and build local networks.
Hands-on experience in the field, roofing, siding, gutters, window/door, or solar knowledge strongly preferred.
Physically capable of working on roofs and using ladders.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; thrives under pressure.
Tech-savvy with proficiency in CRMs (Zoho or similar), project management, and communication tools.
Excellent communication, organizational, and people management skills.
