Position Summary:

Sapient Logic is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to support maintaining and managing of servers, networks, and IT systems being leveraged by one of Navy's special programs. This individual will be in charge of testing IT systems during Systems Integration Testing events and play a role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of the infrastructure necessary in successful execution of exercises or test events.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations, Windows and Linux servers.

• Directly assist with installation and setup of system of systems hardware from bare metal to platform base operating system.

• Manage and monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions proactively.

• Develop and implement automation scripts using Python and Ansible.

• Collaborate with System Engineers in the uploading of container images into a deployment pipeline.

• Support monitoring of pods deployed in a Kubernetes environment.

• Execute testing of Navy IT systems during Structured Integration Test events.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of IT experience; OR and Associates degree and 12 years of IT experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED and 14 years of IT experience is required.

• IAT Level II (CompTIA Security + and OS/Computing Environment certification).

• 4+ years writing scripts with languages such as Python, Bash, Powershell, or Perl.

• 5+ years programming on and administering Linux servers and maintaining a distributed computing infrastructure.

• 4+ years of experience with implementation and understanding of Network Engineering principles in a professional environment.

• Virtualization: VMWare

• Experience racking physical servers.

• Ability to represent successful completion of work in Agile Management systems (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitLab).

• Experience in administering Docker, Kubernetes, and micro services architecture is preferred.

• A strong understanding of security concepts, best practices and how to apply them, such as Secure Shell, public key encryption, access credentials, certificates, TLS, and data encryption to include Department of Defense and Intelligence Community security policies/processes.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to dynamically prioritize tasks.

• Organized with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Candidates must have an active clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

• 8-hour shift
