Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new revenue, expanding market share, and building long-term relationships with both new and existing clients. This role requires a consultative approach to sales, deep knowledge of international logistics and freight forwarding services, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to acquire and grow key accounts.
Leverage market intelligence to identify new business opportunities and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.
Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized logistics solutions that meet customer needs.
Present proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage contract negotiations through to close.
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates for leadership.
Participate in ongoing sales training and development programs to stay current with industry trends and sales techniques.
Travel regularly within the assigned region to meet with prospective and existing clients.
Qualifications:
5+ years of business development experience within international freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain solutions.
Strong knowledge of air and ocean freight, import/export procedures, customs brokerage, and supply chain operations.
Familiarity with CRM and sales management systems; CMS experience is a plus.
Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and negotiate effectively.
Strong understanding of the local market, customer base, and competitive landscape.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
Industry vertical experience in sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Pharma & Healthcare, Technology, Energy, or Defense is highly desirable.
