Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned IBM Mainframe Developer with deep expertise in IMS DB, COBOL, DB2, and related technologies to join our team on-site in Edison, NJ. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mainframe development, hands-on experience with IMS and DB2 databases, and familiarity with various mainframe utilities and tools. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical applications supporting enterprise-scale operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance applications for IBM Mainframe environments.

Write efficient, modular, and maintainable code using COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe languages.

Work with IMS DB and DB2 for data storage, retrieval, and performance tuning.

Perform technical troubleshooting across mainframe components, addressing production issues proactively.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirement analysis, system design, and testing.

Develop and consume CICS Web Services and REST APIs where required.

Utilize and automate processes using mainframe utilities such as File-AID, Expeditor, DFSORT, IDCAMS, REXX, and SAS.

Support integration and migration initiatives involving cloud technologies (Azure or AWS exposure is a plus).

Participate in code reviews, documentation, and compliance with secure coding standards.

Required Skills:

Minimum 8 years of experience in IBM Mainframe application development.

Strong expertise in COBOL, IMS DB/DC, DB2, CICS, and JCL.

Proficient in using mainframe tools/utilities: File-AID, Expeditor, DFSORT, SYNCSORT, REXX, SAS.

Hands-on experience with debugging, performance tuning, and job scheduling tools.

Exposure to CICS web services, REST APIs, and modern integration patterns.

Working knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting, Java, or Python is a plus.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and version control systems (e.g., Endevor, Git).

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working in Banking, Insurance, or Financial Services domain.

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Exposure to cloud integration with mainframe systems (AWS/Azure)
