Day-to-Day

As Sr. network engineer, on a day-to-day basis, about 25% of the time is spent on troubleshooting, which can increase during critical incidents or when addressing architectural challenges. Another 25% is focused on strategic planning, while the remaining 50% is dedicated to building and executing solutions-- as a senior team member, the balance shifts more toward strategic oversight. Key initiatives include global infrastructure build-outs, such as projects in Frankfurt and London, and a major migration effort within New Jersey, moving from one data center space to another. Over the next year or two, additional migrations and expansions are expected, including the development of a new data center in Europe. The role also involves revamping global routing architecture and supporting low-latency initiatives globally, expanding into Asia more so as the year continues. Cloud integration, particularly with AWS, is an ongoing focus as part of the broader modernization strategy.
