We are seeking an all-star business development professional focused on sourcing direct lending transactions with law firms.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-starting team player who thrives in an entrepreneurial culture. B.E. Blank & Company (“B.E. Blank & Co LP” or “the Firm”) is a West Palm Beach-based investment manager founded in 2017. We are the capital partner of choice for values-aligned law firms that utilize our investments to broaden access to justice and drive positive behavioral changes amongst society’s most powerful actors. The Firm is the investment manager to multiple funds that are designed to provide investors with non-correlated, favorable risk-adjusted returns with limited volatility by providing working capital to stakeholder-centric law firms that are mission-oriented and values-aligned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify potential borrowers for a direct lending strategy focused on providing credit facilities for small to medium size law firms
Utilize the Firm’s propriety database, data subscription services and other technology to execute an outreach strategy and receive telephone and email communication with potential law firm borrowers
Attend industry conference and other events
Maintain and grow relationships with third-party placement agents and other sourcing partners
Screen potential law firm borrowers to determine if they are a potential fit for the Firm’s investment strategy
Sort potential law firm borrowers into categories for immediate action, to nurture a relationship for future action, or to politely disengage
Liaise with the Firm’s investment team and the Fund’s investors as needed

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND MINDSET
A successful candidate will have at least two years of directly relevant experience in an inside sales or business development team environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comprehension and listening skills, as well as uncompromising professionalism, is required
Strong sales skills, the ability to handle objections persuasively, the ability to interview potential law firm borrowers to extract sensitive information, and the ability to be assertive when needed to push a potential sales process forward
Disciplined work-ethic that keeps your focus and motivation high, even when working repetitively at high-volume
Willingness to embrace specialization: a successful candidate would rather be a “master of one trade” than a “Jack or Jill of many trades”
Experience and proficiency with marketing automation software, lead generation programs, and CRM systems
Public service experience, including service with the armed forces, in government, or in the non-profit sector is a plus
