About the Role:

Are you a highly skilled SQL Server DBA with a passion for optimizing system performance and ensuring scalability? We are seeking a talented individual to join our premier client, focusing specifically on performance and load testing for our cutting-edge applications.

What You'll Do:

Operational Support: Assist with day-to-day DBA tasks such on-call and patching, ensuring the continuity of database operations while managing workload distribution and minimizing gaps during periods of leave and team transitions.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and implement structured documentation practices for both Oracle and SQL Server environments. Facilitate knowledge sharing across team members to increase team effectiveness and reduce dependencies.

Workload and Process Optimization: Support in capturing and analyzing team workload data, helping to assess operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Recommend and implement improvements to processes and workflows.

Collaborate with DBAs: Work closely with the existing DBA team to ensure balanced task allocation and help mitigate stress during high-demand periods. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.

Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members (including junior DBAs), fostering a collaborative and self-sufficient team culture.

What Our Client is Looking For (MUST-HAVES):

Extensive DBA experience with SQL Server (minimum 8 years). Experience with SQL Server 2022 is required

SQL Server DBA Expertise: Take ownership of SQL Server database management, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Ensure high availability, security, and reliability of SQL Server databases.

Strong experience working in high-demand operational fintech environments with a focus on efficiency and service continuity.

Proven ability to document complex systems, processes, and workflows.

Excellent communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

Ability to identify and resolve operational challenges with a strategic mindset.

Experience in knowledge sharing and cross-training technical teams.

Available for on-call shift every 4-5 weeks.

Preferred Qualifications (NICE-TO-HAVES):

Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage competing demands effectively.

Experience in financial services technology companies.

Proficient with ServiceNow for workload tracking and project management tools (Planview).
