Full Stack Engineer

A company is looking to hire an Senior Full-Stack Engineer (frontend focused) in Austin, TX. The company specialized in construction/environmental based compliance software. This is a hybrid position that will be 3 days a week onsite in Austin, TX. The client is potentially open to remote/relo candidates but we are focusing on local candidates to Austin initially. This person will be someone who is strong front-end focus to spearhead development of our web dashboard and data tools.

What the role with entail:

- This candidate will own the user interface and experience for their new SaaS platform - zero-to-once development with no legacy code - Working with Next.js/React to create data-rich applications - Building interactive dashboards and analytics tools that help users understand their data at a glance - Cross collaborate with their backend team - working with Python, FastAPI, LLMs, and retrieval augmented generation systems - Integrating modern AI - LLM workflows, embedding based search - for their customers - Ownership of UI/UX decisions for dashboards and SaaS platform components - Operating in a startup environment - being able to have creative ideas and adapt quickly as your scope of work can change quickly

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Senior Frontend Expertise:

- 5+ years building modern web applications. Deep proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js (or similar SSR frameworks) - Previously have built front-end features/products from scratch

UI/UX & Data Visualization Skills:

- Previously have crafted user interfaces for data-heavy applications - Experience with charts/graph libraries (d3.js, Chart.js) - Turning large datasets into clean/engaging visual experiences

Full-Stack Experience:

- 4+ years of Full-Stack based experience - Working with backend technologies and APIs - Can consume/debug RESTful APIs - Experience with Python/FastAPI or similar - Understanding of how front-end and back-end align, focus is still frontend but being able to dive into backend when needed

AI/Data Enthusiasm:

- Don't need to be an AI expert but need to be excited to work on a product involving machine learning and intelligent data processing

Ownership:

- Comfortable making key architectural decisions, write high-quality maintainable code - Mentorship - passion for teaching others - Someone who thrives off of making key technical decisions

Startup Experience:

- Someone who has come from a startup or been in a small team environment

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE BUT NOT REQUIRED

- Hands on experience with DevOps, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure - Someone who has set up front-end build pipelines, automated deployments - Familiarity with AWS/Azure and Docker - Exposure to unstructured data or ML/AI based products (someone who has integrated a third-party NLP service, worked with search APIs - are good examples of kind of experience) - Experience in the environmental industry - this company specializes in Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
