JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title:
Medical Records Clerk
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Pull charts requested by authorized personnel in a timely manner.
Maintain control of records using assigned computer systems.
Refile charts in an accurate and timely manner.
Pull charts which need medical reports (hospital papers) filed in them.
Pull "purged" charts as needed
May act as receptionist for the department: greet patients, answer telephone properly and follow through on calls.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

File charts
Answer phone
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma, or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Prior clerical experience preferred
Prior experience in a medical office preferred
REQUIREMENTS:
Accuracy
Clerical aptitude
File alphabetically, as well as to distinguish colors and accurately process numbers.
Dependability
SKILLS:
Basic computer skills
Basic clerical skills
Basic telephone and communications skills
ABILITIES:
Ability to follow directions
Ability to greet and assist patients
Ability to act as a team player
