Position Information

This position will be responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of venue events and to support the unit manager with daily activities at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre.

Essential Functions

Plans and coordinates assigned recreational activities, which may include youth programs, senior programs, special needs programs, fitness programs and classes, sports leagues and clinics, after school and summer programs, arts and crafts programs, theater and performing arts programs and special events, or nature and environmental programs: develops program services and activities; schedules classes, leagues, events and programs; reserves facilities and schedules grounds use; coordinates instructors, staff, and volunteers; provides information and direction as needed; and manages programs in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.

Organizes, instructs and supervises assigned recreational activities: gathers supplies and equipment; verifies completion of required forms for each participant; teaches classes, clinics, and skills; provides information and direction; performs assessments; and ensures all activities comply with established rules, policies, procedures and safety standards.

Promotes recreational programming and events: creates and publishes promotional materials such as schedules, news releases, flyers, brochures, posters, signs, websites, social media posts etc.

Performs customer service functions: provides information or assistance regarding services, activities, forms, procedures, fees, or other issues; responds to routine questions and complaints; researches problems and initiates problem resolution; and refers complaints/problems to appropriate personnel.

Processes participant registrations, memberships, ticket sales, and other fees and documentation: receives and reviews forms and documentation for accuracy and completeness; collects and records fees; balances cash drawer; prepares deposits; and maintains related documentation.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Parks & Recreation, or related field required; supplemented by one year of experience in area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Licenses and Certifications

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License

Physical Abilities

Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.

Sensory Requirements

Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors

Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
