Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in branch services and operations as needed to serve our members.
Provide assistance in all areas of accounting with questions, errors, and an assistance needed for day to day operations.
Assist with monthly closing process ensuring entries and balancing duties are completed timely and accurately
Back up to all staff members in times of absence, including daily balancing, processing exception items, debit/credit card balancing, various general ledger reconcilements, wire and ACH processing.
Assist members and other staff members with various questions.
Serve as a backup to the accounting manager including but not limited to cash ordering for branches, fixed asset tracking, GL error corrections,
Assist with period audits and regulatory exams including preparation of necessary documentation, answering questions, and remediating findings
Attend seminars and training sessions to maintain knowledge of regulations, requirements and laws as they pertain to the credit union, and follow through on compliance.
Work projects as assigned to better systems for the credit union
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary in order to meet the credit union's goals and objectives.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or four (4) years' experience in financial accounting.
Knowledge of accounting and financial principles
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications
Strong written and oral communication skills
Availability to work weekends and extended hours, as needed.
Works well with others and follows directions
Able to work independently
Employees must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and The USA Patriot Act.
Compensation details: 23-28 Hourly Wage
