Vehicle Controls, Matlab/Simulink, CAN, J1939, System Engineering, Off-highway
Responsibilities:
Act as an interface between all disciplines of design / support engineering and software engineers to define required functionality of vehicle systems using Model Based Systems Engineering principles and approaches
Understand desired vehicle functionality and subsequently transform the requests into functional software specifications
Work with and direct software suppliers / engineers, communicating functional system requests via detailed documentation that follows functional operational guidelines across all products
Ensure design compliance to various regulations and standards across multiple regions and markets
Participate in validation / regression test of software
Utilize Controller Area Network (CAN) tools, proprietary programming tools, bench fixtures and Hardware In Loop to assure design intent
Interrogate source code when needed
Assist in planning and direction of relevant activities through all phases of innovation and development
Direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specification, and bills of material when necessary
Primary Skills :
Working knowledge of Controller Area Networks (CAN) and related standards for vehicle communications, such as SAE J1939
Experience with off-highway or automotive vehicles
working knowledge of model-based engineering tools
Multi-faceted knowledge of vehicle electronic, hydraulic, and powertrain systems
Secondary Skills :
Experience with control of electric vehicles
Experience with Human-Machine Interfaces
Working knowledge of programming languages
