General Purpose
Reporting to the Middle School Principal, the Assistant Principal at the Middle School is central to the viability of the school. The Assistant Principal works as part of the school's leadership team including department chairs, Counselor, and the Principal. Specific duties will be determined by the team based on the candidate's strengths and dispositions. In any case, building-level leadership in MCAS centers in the following areas:
Leading others in setting and achieving a strategic direction that recognizes current strengths and weakness and is internally and externally coherent
Providing instructional leadership that utilizes a variety of data sources and recognizes the complexity and centrality of teaching and learning
Building and maintaining a quality team by understanding current team staff and opportunities for improvement
Creating and nurturing a positive, supportive and inclusive school climate
Managing operations and resources effectively Education and Experience
Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution
Ability to lead by working collaboratively with others
Commitment to work in an economically and racially diverse community Salary and Benefits
