The Administrative Professional 2/Investigator Assistant plays an important part at the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professional Board. In this role, you will be responsible for\:
Receiving training in investigative procedures and techniques and laws and rules applicable to investigations handled by Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.

Conducting basic investigations of applicant criminal records (e.g., BCI checks, disqualifying offenses)
Gathering preliminary data, researching and studying records, reports, documents, and verifying information provided by parties.
Interviewing parties or witnesses in-office or by phone. Corresponding to request or confirm information.
Gathering documentation and evidence for application reviews and Ethics Committee reports.
Recording, tracking, and monitoring ethics grievances, complaints, and consent agreements using complaint systems and eLicense, ensuring progress until responses are received and cases are ready for investigation.
Distributing grievance response letters, preparing waiver of service forms and hearing notices
Transmitting decisions and directives, including ethics violation letters and final consent agreements.
Researching and analyzing materials for the Investigative Supervisor and Ethics Committee, including criminal justice history, board actions, BCI information, and obtaining hardcopy or computerized court records from various sources.
Drafting correspondence and legal documents, including subpoenas, and providing technical information and advice to support Investigative team decision making.
Overseeing ethics case record retention (e.g., scanning, storage) and responding to general inquiries regarding grievances, enforcement, and programs.
Assisting with preparation for chapter 119 hearings by assembling exhibits, coordinating with the Assistant Attorney General, arranging rooms, and scheduling court reporters.
Preparing required reports, including the yearly HB 263 report, ethics reports for board/committee meetings, and other reports using eLicense and reporting formats.
Working on special administrative or investigative assignments and projects, assisting with CEU audits and disciplinary documentation, and supporting application reviews.
· Unless required by legislation or union contract, salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range with gradual increases in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code or OCSEA/AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check as well as other investigative reviews. Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college.
Or 18 months experience or 18 months training in secretarial/administrative professional field.
Or 6 months experience as Administrative Professional 1, 16871.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
