Automation Engineer

Long-Term Ongoing Contract

Raleigh, NC (Travel Required)

The mission our Fortune 500 clients Pharmaceutical Manufacturing team is to produce medicine with safety first and quality always. This role will track progress, ensure milestones align with the site's data integrity initiatives, and serve as the primary technical resource for both the process team and central automation team. The Engineer will also lead change management processes and ensure that proper C&Q procedures are followed across all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety

Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to HSE policies and promoting ergonomic practices within the process team.

Actively participate in safety activities such as audits, JSA's, hazard reviews, and other initiatives to drive continuous safety improvements.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by local procedures and the activity being performed.

Understand and ensure safe operation of equipment within the area.

Technical and Process Capability

Gain technical expertise in equipment and automation systems within the assigned area.

Understand the automation architecture and networking of equipment, both within the manufacturing line and as part of Concord sites network.

Collaborate with process teams to learn fundamental user operations and process requirements.

Support all related C&Q activities, including FAT, SAT, IV/OV, and PQ.

Share knowledge of data integrity efforts and projects with the broader engineering team.

Project and Change Management

Take ownership of change management processes, ensuring all documents are routed and controlled.

Communicate effectively with both the process team and central automation teams to ensure alignment and timely project execution.

Lead the completion of assigned data integrity and automation compliance projects, tracking progress and resolving roadblocks.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience : 2+ years with automation systems from major industrial providers (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).

Skills :

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in team-based environments.

Ability to share and communicate technical knowledge clearly.

Proficient in various software packages (e.g., Excel, PowerBI).

Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for self and others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with asset delivery and start-up in assembly or packaging.

Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Project management experience.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent work experience).

Additional Information:

Standard 8-hour workdays, with after-hours and weekend support as needed.

Travel may be required for training, conferences, capital projects, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour

8 hour shift
