Controller

Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to lead the accounting function of our growing manufacturing business. This role is critical in driving accurate financial reporting, overseeing cost accounting and inventory management, and ensuring strong internal controls. The ideal candidate has a solid background in manufacturing finance and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and banking

Lead month-end and year-end close processes and prepare internal financial statements

Manage inventory accounting and standard costing across multiple product lines and locations

Analyze manufacturing variances and provide actionable reporting to operations and leadership

Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections

Support external CPA firm with audit/tax preparation and year-end financial packages

Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies

Collaborate with supply chain, production, and sales to align financial reporting with operational performance

Manage and mentor small accounting team (2–4 staff)

Lead system/process improvements and participate in ERP enhancements or upgrades

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Sage, or similar)

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset

Excellent communication and leadership skills
