Position Summary
Why It's a Great Opportunity: In this role, you will perform professional, technical, analytical, and customer-focused work within the GIS Solutions team of the Spatial Services unit in Information Technology. You will serve as a comprehensive GIS subject matter expert, with a particular emphasis on GIS project implementations, drone flight operations, and GIS programming support for various projects as required. You will also gain an understanding of the County's GIS users and current service offerings and quickly address unmet needs for GIS project and service implementations. You will be accountable for supporting the execution of projects outlined in the annual work plan, assisting colleagues with ad-hoc project requests, and contributing to the efficient daily operations of Enterprise GIS.

Core Daily Responsibilities:
Perform senior-level professional technical services in GIS data construction, programming, database management, GIS analysis, system implementation and project management. Assist senior GIS staff on large scale or complex projects.
Perform critical role in the identification of business and functional requirements. Perform needs assessment, application design, development, implementation, documentation, and creation and maintenance of procedural documentation
Program, maintain, enhance, and support GIS business systems/programs.
Perform advanced spatial, geo-statistical, network, 3D, or business analysis. Perform advanced and complex GIS spatial data analysis (density, spatial statistical) of data themes that provides quantitative and qualitative results to a problem.
Plan, design, develop, test, and monitor GIS programs and systems. Implement business systems or spatial analysis projects and solve technical problems or implement a business process.
Support mission critical GIS systems in the Emergency Operations Center during emergencies and activations.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
A resume and cover letter are required for this position.
Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Geography or related field AND
Four or more years of information technology/GIS experience required.
Additional education or experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
GIS analyst with experience in coordinating, implementing and delivering projects for diverse local government domains like Asset Management, Fire, Parks, Public Works, Road Maintenance, Storm Drainage, and Emergency Management.
Demonstrated experience in field data collection as a drone pilot. Ability to assist the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) program administrator and the County’s drone pilot user group when required.
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification and proficiency with software such as DroneDeploy, Pix4D, or similar.
Experience in high accuracy GPS data collection and supporting related equipment.
Experience with GIS Python programming, including ESRI APIs like ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python. Arcade experience is a plus.
Experience with version control (Git)
Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, and GIS Web Services in an integrated, solution-focused environment.
