PURPOSE
Processes free and reduced applications and invoices, performs general clerical and data entry duties and provides customer service; performs related work as required.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of an employee in this class is to process free and reduced applications, invoices and bills, and perform general clerical and data entry support duties, and provide customer service. The work is performed under the supervision of the School Nutrition Director. The primary duties of this class are performed in a general office environment and may include driving to and from various district locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Scan and process free and reduced applications, assists with verification and keeping applications current
Receives, checks and signs for office deliveries
Enters invoices and inventory into proper software programs
Sorts monthly payroll checks and assists with delivery to schools as needed
Sort and distribute office mail
Conduct monthly inventory of commodity, office and small ware supplies
Provides general clerical and accounting assistance to schools and office staff
Answers incoming telephone calls and greets walk-in customers
Prepares monthly packets and meal cards for schools
Maintains free and reduced files for annual audit
Assists customers and vendors with School District procedures and explains District procedures/policies/programs to customers and resolves customer concerns;
Prepares, distributes and maintains a variety of documents, correspondence, log sheets, applications, and related documents;
Provides data entry services, faxing, typing, and filing in support of school functions;
Attends approved training and workshops
Communicates effectively with all staff, students, parents, visitor and vendors
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures and safety practices.
Operation of standard office equipment, including an office computer and job-related software applications
General accounting and cash handling record keeping practices and procedures.

Perform duties accurately and efficiently under time sensitive deadlines;
Maintain effective working relationship with other district employees, supervisory personnel, vendors, and the public
Maintain office, school, and individual confidentiality
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalency; preferably supplemented with course work in accounting, math or other business applications; and
Some general accounting or clerical experience, preferably in a school office position; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Idaho Driver's License
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person;
Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to comprehend written work instructions, operate a motor vehicle and review, evaluate, and prepare a variety of written/typed documents and text materials
Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate standard office equipment and a personal computer and to make adjustments to equipment;
Sufficient personal mobility, flexibility, and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to drive a motor vehicle, lift 20 pounds, sit and work at a computer keyboard for an extended period of time, and work in an office environment.
