Position

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist performs high-complexity testing in a CLIA-certified clinical toxicology lab. This role involves hands-on LC-MS testing, instrument maintenance, method validation, and quality assurance. A strong understanding of regulatory standards and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities:

Perform high-complexity toxicology testing, including sample preparation, in accordance with CLIA and CAP guidelines

Operate, maintain, and calibrate instruments such as Agilent 6460 and Beckman Coulter AU480/680

Conduct and review quality control procedures, implementing corrective actions as needed

Troubleshoot assay and instrument issues in collaboration with the team

Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records in line with regulatory standards

Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

Follow lab safety protocols, SOPs, and all compliance standards

Assist in method development and validation for toxicology panels

Perform other duties as assigned by lab management

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, chemistry, biology, or a related field

At least 1 year of proven experience performing high-complexity testing in a CLIA-certified clinical lab

Documented clinical lab training or equivalent experience per CLIA §493.1489

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills

Must successfully complete a post-offer drug screening as part of the onboarding process due to the safety-sensitive and regulatory nature of the role

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in processing urine and oral fluid samples is strongly preferred.

Experience with Beckman Coulter analyzers and LC-MS instruments is a plus

Certification (e.g., ASCP MLS or AMT MT) is preferred but not required

Strong understanding of CLIA regulations and quality control practices

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

All positions require time zone awareness, including the impact of daylight saving time, as we are a multi-state organization with teams and partners across different U.S. time zones. Clear communication and timely coordination are essential.

Schedule:

Full-Time; specific schedule to be determined

Salary:

$25–$28/hour starting pay

Eligible for a $3/hour raise within the first 6 months based on training and competency

Benefits for full-time W2 Employees:

Benefits begin 60 days after the first full month of full-time employment.
