Purpose of Position:

Senior UX/ UI Designer to provide amazing user experience solutions for a large and highly complex application that contributes to the safety and security of fellow Americans. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean, visually appealing and functional user interfaces and enjoy producing graphical elements like images, typography, and iconography to translate high-level requirements into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces. You will work collaboratively with fellow members of the user experience team to conceptualize, strategize, design, and prototype ideas while working with other project teams and stakeholders to assist in the conceptualization of the overall strategy of the product. This is a remote position with regular virtual check-ins with your team and other project stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strong interpersonal skills

Team-player; interacts well within a UX team.

Ability to present designs to stakeholders, users, and developers.

Mindset to explain design decisions.

Familiarity with Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design tools

Proficiency with wireframing and visual design

Ability to create diagrams, user flows, and annotate communicated well so SW developers can digest and implement.

Ability to work within Agile processes, deliver required work products before deadlines.

Willingness to learn complex Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, Modeling & Simulation, and other Army domain-specific workflows and consolidate that knowledge into easy-to-use designs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Intelligence or Electronic Warfare domain experience

Design Systems experience.

User Testing experience, ability to create usability test scenarios, evaluate workflows, assess user feedback.

On-site (Orlando) 1-2 wks per year

UX certifications (does not replace base 5yrs experience)

Agile certifications Education: BA in Psychology or Design, willing to waive if good portfolio.

Experience: UX or UI background, 5 yrs experience in true UX or UI design (prefer actual design over UX management, etc.)

Travel:

25%. Include supporting ~monthly User Touchpoints at (e.g at APG, MD, or Ft. Cavazos, TX)
