Day Shift - 5am to 3:00pm, 20-minute paid lunch. Flexible start times available if needed.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: We're seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to program our current and future automated fabrication equipment. The Fabrication CNC programmer will write and/or modify CNC programs for our lasers, brake presses, and machining centers. This role will serve as a vital connection between the Fabrication and Production Control teams, ensuring timely order releases, while also focusing on our material utilization and throughput.

Support the Fabrication Department through the development, modification, and optimization of Nesting/CNC programs for all automated equipment.

Implement effective nesting strategies to maximize material yields and flow

Analyze and select speeds and cutting tools for programs.

Verify completed programs by running simulations or tests before releasing to Production.

Troubleshoot program issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and reduce downtime

Follow established procedures to maintain plate steel inventory accuracy

Make improvements to set up times / streamline tooling setup time for operators

Partner with machine operators on the performance of programs and utilize feedback to improve program quality.

Collaborate with Engineering Design team on design limits with machine capabilities

Collaborate closely with Fabrication team members and management to document and implement best practices

Collaborate with CI Engineering and Fabrication to evaluate processes, setups, cycle times, operator movements, stocked material sizes, and nesting efficiency to increase productivity and reduce cost

Support the Production Control Department through Fabrication order releases.

Work with Production Control to develop the Cut Schedule and maintain customer delivery requirements. Adjust product releases to Fabrication to support the production schedule and operational goals.

Utilize TCM and SharePoint to process orders for service/warranty, Kanban fulfillment, and rework. Print and sort shop orders for delivery to Production team.

Release and communicate high priority service, warranty, or rework shop orders to respective departments

Collaborate with Engineering, GSS, Production, and Production Control as needed to ensure details, specs, and schedules are properly understood.

Complies with all safety rules and regulations.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

Superior computer programming skills

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Must be mechanically inclined with knowledge of metal shop work.

Superior math skills, especially algebra, trigonometry, and physics.

Active listening skills.

Problem solving, decision making, and collaboration skills.

Excellent time management skills / organizational and planning skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be highly detail oriented.

Must have the ability to write, read, and interpret complex blueprints

Technical degree, or relevant experience, preferred

3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing setting, including 3+ years of programming experience in a metal shop.

Previous experience with manufacturing ERP software a plus

ProNest or CAD/CAM experience a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs.

Bending, lifting, and standing

Exposure to noise and weld and grinding smoke at times
