About the Position

At CAE Inc., data is foundational to innovation. We’re seeking a highly experienced Remote Data Engineer / Analytics Director to lead the design, development, and governance of scalable data infrastructure that powers decision-making across our global operations in aviation, defense, and healthcare.

As a senior member of our data and analytics organization, you’ll shape our enterprise data strategy, oversee cross-functional analytics initiatives, and mentor technical teams. You’ll combine hands-on engineering skills with a strategic mindset to drive data maturity, performance optimization, and insight delivery at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and development of modern data pipelines, warehouses, and cloud-based infrastructure

Manage end-to-end data lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation to storage and visualization

Define and enforce data governance, quality standards, and security protocols

Partner with executive stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with business goals

Oversee analytics dashboards, BI tools, and predictive models that deliver business-critical insights

Mentor and manage data engineering and analytics professionals across remote teams

Integrate diverse data sources, including ERP, CRM, IoT, and simulation platforms

Stay current with evolving tools and technologies in data engineering, ML, and analytics strategy

What You Bring

7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics leadership, or BI architecture roles

Proficiency with SQL, Python, Spark, dbt, and modern data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)

Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, etc.)

Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex analytics projects remotely

Familiarity with dashboarding/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)

Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and pipeline optimization

Excellent stakeholder management and strategic communication skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; relevant certifications a plus
