Purpose: Provide technical support to management in the implementation and maintenance of the corporate HSE program.
Work Schedule: Varies by location. Must have open availability any time any day of the week.
Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to):
Provide technical support in implementing our corporate HSE program.
Present HSE training, testing, and certifications for onsite employees while maintaining all relevant recordkeeping.
Inspect and audit projects for site conditions, compliance, and all documentation mandated by corporate policy, federal/state standards, and client requirements.
Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health or safety.
Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
Maintain or update emergency response plans or procedures.
Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies
Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC with the Samuel EPC HSE Manual and regulatory standards.
Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Essential Qualifications
1-3 years industrial safety experience
Associates Degree in Safety and/or advanced certification is preferred
OSHA 500 for Construction is preferred.
Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
Must be capable of obtaining or possess inspection licenses and/or certifications as required
Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)
Possess technological skills such as operating a computer, sending/receiving emails, scan, and print documents. Also, be able to work in Microsoft Word, and Excel; and work in PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
