We do this by aligning the voice of our small business members with advocacy for change in federal policy that will make the government market more accessible to small businesses and the commercial technology ecosystem.

The Channel's founding Technical Board Members include former government leaders and IT executives passionate about bringing best-of-breed technology to the government.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced DATABASE ENGINEER to join our team!

Responsibilities:

Designs, implements, and maintains complex database systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Develops and maintains database documentation, including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and schema definitions. Collaborates with application developers to integrate databases with software systems. Performs routine database administration tasks, such as backups, restores, performance monitoring, and capacity planning. Implements and maintains database security measures, including access control, auditing, and encryption. Troubleshoots and resolves database performance issues, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and hardware configuration. Develops and maintains scripts and automation tools to streamline database administration tasks. Automates database deployments, schema changes, and data migration processes. Stays current with emerging database technologies, tools, and best practices. Researches and recommends new database solutions to improve efficiency and performance.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science or information technology

EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

CLEARANCE: Secret to Top Secret

*Position is contingent upon award.

Work Location: JS J-7 facility located in Suffolk, Virginia
