Job Description

The Digital Pathology Associate I (DPA I) is an entry-level role within the pathology pre-view program, responsible for the initial review of digitized pathology slide images using the Nervalence software platform. Utilizing heat map technology, the DPA I identifies key areas of interest to assist pathologist in their tissue section assessments. This role is essential to the daily operations and workflow productivity of the pre-view team, ensuring that all slides are reviewed in accordance with the established standards and procedures of the pre-view program. Additional responsibilities may include slide scanning, image analysis and other assigned tasks to support digital pathology operations as needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in pathology, maintain a high level of attention to detail, and portray the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of slides are critical for success in this role.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct visual evaluations of slide images during the initial review process using the Nervalence software platform and heatmap technology.

Accurately identify anatomical structures within the tissue samples and distinguish between the presence and absence of target protein expression.

Identifying and reporting potential issues (e.g., blurry scans, staining inconsistencies), and communicating findings to the appropriate personnel.

Capture and document photomicrographs for each case, following established guidelines.

Maintain accurate and timely records of slide reviews, ensuring all data is entered accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Adhere to standard protocols and procedures for slide handling, scanning, image analysis, and pre-viewing workflows.

Ensure proper organization and achieving digital images following pre-view completion and after final pathologist review.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams s as needed to support workflow and process improvements.

Perform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor and/or manager, which may include general office duties such as filing, printing, and maintaining organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Foundational knowledge of histology and/or pathology is preferred.

Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

Comfortable using digital tools with basic data entry experience.

Strong communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a high paced and team-oriented environment.

Education, Certifications & Licensures:

Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field is required.

Other:

Combination of seated and standing work to complete the core functions of the role.

Adherence to company safety policy and all other policies stated in the CND handbook.

Ability to work onsite at the Company's Scottsdale, AZ headquarters approximately five (5) days a week. Hybrid work may be available after completion of training.
