rnABOUT THIS SENIOR ACCOUNTANT POSITIONrn The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:rnrnEnsures accounting functions are performed according to established procedures and applicable regulations.rnPrepares financial statements including balance sheets, profit, loss and subsidiary statements.

Prepares accurate consolidated monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, profit, loss and subsidiary statements by collecting, analyzing and summarizing relevant information.

Identifies any discrepancies, investigates cause and collaborates with relevant departments to ensure information accuracy.

rnCollaborates with various departments to maintain accurate and timely general ledger reconciliations.rnPerforms variance analysis of monthly financial data.rnLeads the month-end close process, including intercompany eliminations and consolidations.

Monitors financial performance against historical and budgeted results, identifying and resolving variances.

Continuously seeks process improvements.rnPrepares and/or reviews regulatory and governmental reports, ensuring accurate representation of the credit union's financial position.rnResearches and interprets new accounting regulations, determining their impact on the credit union.

Assists management in updating accounting policies and procedures in response to regulatory changes, ensuring thorough review and feedback before final approval.rnSupports budget preparation and financial analysis, monitoring costs and expenses.rnKeeps senior management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

Provides suggestions and input for policy/procedure changes, improvement of department processes and effectiveness.

rnCompletes required reports and related documents promptly and accurately.

Ensures reports are made and submitted according to established regulations and deadlines.

rnPro-actively supports and advances HCU's brand and culture.rnrnREQUIREMENTS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANTrnrnBachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience rnCPA preferred but not requiredrnThree to Five years of accounting experience preferredrnAbility to assist othersrnAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all departments and business unitsrnWell-organized and attentive to detail.rnAble to meet deadlines and manage projectsrnStrong problem solving and analytical skillsrnWillingness to assist otherrnAble to operate related computer applications and PCrnProficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and OutlookrnFlexible and open to change.rnSedentary work; sitting most of the time.
