New England Keyboard/Nelson Miller Group is seeking a highly skilled Screen Print/Press Operator to join our team and play a crucial role in producing high-quality printed materials. In this role, you'll be responsible for the efficient operation of our screen print presses and ensuring the delivery of top-notch products.
This role is based on-site at our New England Keyboard/Nelson Miller Group facility in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

What You'll Do:
As a Screen Print/Press Operator, you'll be at the heart of our production process, responsible for everything from setup to final inspection. Your key responsibilities will include:
Operating the Press: Efficiently set up, operate, and monitor screen printing presses, ensuring optimal performance and output. This includes loading paper, adjusting feed and tension controls, and responding to any system alerts or errors.
Ink Management: Accurately obtain or mix inks and fill ink fountains to meet job specifications.
Quality Control: Secure printing plates, adjust tolerances, and pull proofs to meticulously check for ink coverage, density, alignment, and registration. You'll conduct regular inspections during runs, collecting and examining samples to identify and address any issues promptly.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine cleaning of ink fountains, plates, and cylinders. You'll also handle minor repairs using hand tools and notify management of any significant equipment problems.
Digital Adjustments: Make necessary adjustments to digital files, including fonts, graphics, or color separations, to ensure print accuracy.
Production Oversight: Examine job orders to determine specifications such as quantities, stock, colors, and special instructions. You'll verify that paper and ink meet all requirements.
Material Handling: Retrieve and organize printed parts for subsequent passes, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Inventory & Organization: Monitor inventory levels of supplies and request additional materials as needed. You'll also contribute to maintaining a clean and organized shop environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Screen Print Group Leader, assisting with setups, heat treating stock, and other tasks as directed.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate time and production records daily.
Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and adjust environmental factors like humidity and temperature to optimize equipment performance.
Auxiliary Equipment Operation: Set up and operate auxiliary equipment such as cutting, folding, or laminating machines.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
Experience: 1-3 years of printing experience, with a strong preference for screen printing.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Technical Aptitude: An in-depth understanding of basic printing technologies and the ability to make precise adjustments.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to quality control and a commitment to producing flawless prints.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment or print quality.
Independence: Capable of working independently under standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Safety & Quality Focus: A strong commitment to adhering to and promoting maximum safety standards, quality policies, procedures, work instructions, ISO9000 standards, and ITAR regulations.
Due to ITAR and / or CUI compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3).

Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $22-24 per hour (Pay to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data).
