Job Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for facilitating operational material purchases from affiliated vendors to support on-time production. This includes preparing and processing purchase orders, tracking purchases and keeping vendor details updated. This position will act as the liaison between the corporate Procurement Department and the Irwindale facility by providing onsite purchasing support.

Duties and Responsibilities

Processes purchase requisitions, including obtaining and expediting approvals

Utilizes Maximo (EAM) to create, manage, and track purchase requisitions and purchase orders

Maintain purchase order and vendor master data to ensure it is accurate and reportable

Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing

Provide procurement process training and other related procurement help desk support

Track and expedite orders when requested

Support the new vendor add process

Assist in developing procurement procedures, job guides, and FAQs

Support procurement-related projects

Assist the Finance Department with procurement questions and concerns

Perform Excel based reporting

Assist with the sourcing process, including obtaining, reviewing, and evaluating bids; creating bid documents such as, cost break downs, score cards, proposal documents and other bid required documents.

May troubleshoot supplier issues by working closely with stakeholders to determine appropriate preventive or corrective actions as needed

Help to identify cost savings opportunities.

Own the supplier relationship at the plant level.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum High school diploma or equivalent

Must have 1-2 years’ experience in purchasing and/or procurement

Strong prioritization and organizational skills

Excellent writing and organizational experience with strong attention to detail

Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

Proficiency in IBM Maximo or similar Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, a plus

Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members at all levels and across all departments
