Join our Data Science team, where we leverage cutting-edge analytics and machine learning solutions to improve how healthcare is delivered. We’re looking for a curious and motivated Data Scientist to analyze clinical data, craft features, experiment with algorithms, and create initial prediction models. You will play a key role in designing and deploying our PAS.ai platform features that support clinical decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis

· Collaborate with clinical experts to interpret and analyze EHR, imaging, and procedural data

· Exploratory Data Analysis: visualize patterns in procedural outcomes, identify biases, outliers, and imbalanced data

· Identify key variables (e.g., comorbidities, previous procedures, medications)

· Translate clinical procedural guidelines and appropriateness criteria into data logic.

Data Acquisition & Data Quality

· Data Collection: Acquire raw data from various sources and define data extraction and data mapping specs

· Use basic NLP techniques to structure clinical notes: tokenization, entity extraction, etc.

· Data Cleaning and Preparation: Ensuring data quality through preprocessing, transformation, and normalization.

Feature Engineering

· Transform raw clinical data into usable model features

· Derive new variables (e.g., chronicity of pain, prior treatment attempts, risk scores)

· Study feature relevance and recommend optimal features

Predictive Models

· Build and test ML models (e.g. XGBoost regression, decision trees)

· Validate model output relevance and fairness

· Evaluate with appropriate metrics including confidence scores, and SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) and LIME (Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations)

· Provide feedback on model interpretation and usability.

Visualizations

· Translate technical findings into actionable insights through reports and visualizations

· Document findings and present insights to stakeholders.

Qualifications

· 4 years’ experience in data science with a proven track record of building and delivering impactful data-driven products

· Experience with building and testing predictive ML models using one or more of the following: regression, tree-based algorithms, time series analysis, cluster analysis, classification, or neural networks

· Strong experience with Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and model development, with advanced knowledge of databases and data representation, and handling unstructured data

· Knowledge of Python libraries (especially Pandas, PyTorch, scikit-learn, TensorFlow)

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

· Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

· Experience with Healthcare AI

· Experience with Visualization using Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn) and/or Power BI

· Exposure to Explainable AI (XAI), LIME and SHAP for model interpretability

· Exposure to NLP
