We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team in the manufacturing and service/repair sector. This role requires a proactive leader who is comfortable managing a small team while also rolling up their sleeves to handle day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate has strong experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and is adept at working in a fast-paced environment managing accounting for multiple locations.
This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements and reports, in alignment with internal policies and GAAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & Reconciliation:
Lead and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting for 16 subsidiaries.
Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts, including inventory, COGS, fixed assets, leases, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
Manage and maintain reconciliation schedules for balance sheet accounts.
Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, bills, and payments.
Analyze financial data and variances to ensure accuracy and provide insightful reports, KPIs, and commentary to aid EVPs/VPs in making actionable decisions.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor a small accounting team - providing support and training to team members on systems, processes, and best practices to empower high performance and professional growth.
Collaborate across locations and departments to resolve issues and improve workflows and internal controls.
Seek out opportunities for improvements and automation capabilities for efficient and effective processes.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external reporting requirements, collaborating closely with external CPA firm.
Assist with audit preparations and respond to auditor inquiries, working closely with Controller, internal team, and auditors to ensure timely and efficient audits.
Manage Sales & Use tax filings. Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Manufacturing industry experience required; experience with inventory accounting is highly preferred
Multi-location / intercompany experience required
Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliation practices, and internal controls
Proficiency in NetSuite and Excel
Familiarity with Paylocity, AvidXchange, Ariba, and LeaseCrunch is a plus
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Willingness to be both strategic and hands-on in all areas of accounting
