Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking an Aerospace Inspector to perform initial, in-process, and final inspections on aircraft engine components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and company specifications. This role involves inspecting dimensions, assessing finishes, and detecting nonconformances. Inspectors will approve items within specifications and recommend actions for those not meeting standards. Responsibilities also include verifying part and supplier identification, and assisting shop personnel in setting up gauges and performing inspections.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections on major rotating components such as disks, shafts, air seals, drums, and hubs.

Assist operators in setting up gauges and performing in-process inspections.

Obtain blueprints and company specification sheets for items and orders.

Review internal operation sheets against customer blueprints.

Determine inspection procedures to ensure verification of specifications and dimensions.

Use necessary fixtures, gauges, and indicators to check parts for compliance.

Complete assurance checklists and perform dimensional checks of parts as needed.

Reject nonconforming items, document issues, and move parts to the quality clinic.

Complete required paperwork on machined parts inspection activity.

Read and understand work instructions, manuals, and customer requirements.

Document all inspections accurately and work with operators to meet requirements.

Organize and maintain the inspection department and methods.

Work independently to meet customer requirements and cross-train in other disciplines.

Induct incoming parts and assist in expeditious shipment of critical parts.

Adapt to different inspection methods and perform related duties as required.

Participate in training and maintain regular attendance.

Travel domestically 5-10% of the time.Essential Skills

Must be a 'US Person' as defined by the US Government and able to work with ITAR-related data.

High school diploma or GED required.

3+ years of experience as an aerospace part inspector or equivalent education and experience.

Expert knowledge of blueprint reading and machinery limitations.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

Visual acuity to read machine dials, gauges, Op sheets, and precision measuring equipment.

Ability to make and assemble gauges such as swing gauge and dial bore.

Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action tools (5 why’s, Fishbone, etc.).

Ability to verify conformance using measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.

High level of knowledge to determine proper inspection methods for each part.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection.

Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Capability to review operation sheets against customer blueprints.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
