Job Title: CAD/CAM Designer and CNC Operator
Job Description
The CAD/CAM Designer will be responsible for creating 2D and 3D models, technical drawings, and CAM programming to support the design and manufacturing of custom parts and components. This role involves collaborating closely with production teams to ensure that design intent effectively translates into fabrication.
Responsibilities
Design and modify detailed 2D/3D models and drawings for parts, assemblies, and tooling.
Generate CAM toolpaths for machines, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and manufacturability.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide design.
Collaborate with machinists and fabricators to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
Optimize toolpaths to reduce cycle times and material waste.
Maintain version control and documentation of design files and CAM programs.
Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards and tolerances.
Support continuous improvement efforts in design and manufacturing processes.
Work hands-on with CNC Saws and other fabrication equipment to ensure software programs run equipment effectively.Essential Skills
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Experience with CAM tools and programming, ideally in the metals field.
Proficiency in CNC machining and operation.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong collaboration skills with production teams.
Knowledge of machine operation, fabrication, and metalworking processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with software like Mastercam and Fanuc.
Knowledge in CMM programming, sheet metal, and metal fabrication.
Ability to perform set-up and operation of machines using G-code.
Agility and physical ability to perform changeovers and equipment manipulation.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The facility is brand new, well-lit, and offers a pleasant work environment. However, it is not climate-controlled, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with steel beams stored outside and steel plating stored inside. The standard shift is from 7am to 3pm, with occasional flexibility required for overtime and Saturdays.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.84/hr.
