RF Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Work Setup: Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join our dynamic telecommunications team in Houston. This RF Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge wireless network design and optimization projects, including 5G C-Band deployment and macro/small cell implementations.

RF Engineer Responsibilities

Design & Planning: • Create polygon designs for small cell clusters and search rings for macro solutions based on capacity modification requirements • Review existing site hardware configurations and determine necessary modifications to meet network objectives • Finalize modification and carrier add designs using industry-standard RF design principles

System Management & Tools: • Utilize Atoll software daily to create new builds, modify existing cell sites, and update translations, power settings, and equipment configurations • Complete Fuze project creation with detailed site and node information for real estate coordination • Assign Cell ID and PCIs for macro and small cells, entering data in Atoll and creating construction queries

Compliance & Regulatory: • Ensure FCC compliance standards are met for all RF designs and regulatory submissions • Complete E911 submissions with accuracy verification and follow-up on TVW creation • Work with RF Safety tools including RAVE, IXUS, and review third-party EME studies • Handle landlord letters and outstanding regulatory documentation

Collaboration & Project Management: • Work directly with real estate teams on candidate prioritization and attend implementation meetings • Coordinate with construction, project management, and performance teams to resolve project issues • Review 48-hour milestone status and closeout packages, addressing design discrepancies

RF Engineer Qualifications

Required Skills: • 3+ years of RF design experience with macro modifications and initial builds for small cells and macros • Atoll experience - Must demonstrate ability to create new sites, copy existing sites, add carriers, and understand table differences • C-Band design experience with 5G spectrum knowledge • Strong understanding of FCC compliance standards and regulatory submission processes

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Telecommunication tools: Fuze SPM, Conquest, Canvas, and SPM Reporting • IXUS RF Safety Software or other EME reporting tools proficiency • MapInfo or ArcGIS mapping tools experience for technical presentations • Advanced understanding of 5G C-Band spectrum deployment

Education: • Bachelor's degree in RF Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience in RF Engineering
