Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary
Summary:
The Denials/Appeals Coordinator follows the hospitals and department's mission to meet its objectives in maximizing reimbursement for services provided and ensuring timely cash flow. The Denials/Appeals Coordinator also strives to facilitate patients and/or their families with payments and assists those with financial hardship in the most cost-effective means possible.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Education Required
• Must complete in-house orientation program
• High school graduation or equivalent required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
Experience And Skills
• Speaks, reads and writes English
• Preferred one year Insurance appeal/denial experience
• Ability to work in an organized and professional setting
• Requires excellent oral/written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (word/excel) and other appropriate computer software
• Previous customer service experience.
• Prior office or clerical experience or completion of medical billing/coding courses
• Knowledge and experience with managed care and third party insurance coverage highly recommended
• Typing, filing, and accurate data entry skills.
