The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).

Location

In this position, you can expect to work on-site 5 days per week Monday – Friday 08:00 am – 5:00 pm MST. This is NOT a remote position. This position is located at the Denver International Airport, 8500 Pena Blvd. Denver, CO 80249.

Denver International Airport (DEN) is currently seeking a Senior Desktop Technician to join the DEN Business Technologies Field Team. The Field team is responsible for assisting airport users with different technological tools and solutions that help make Denver International Airport one of the best airports in the nation.

Core job duties include but are not limited to:

Providing professional, polite, and respectful support for customer issues or requests related to: Windows 10/11, Active Directory, desktop/laptop hardware, software including Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Google Chrome, Logitech Teams Rooms and others. Mobile Devices.

hardware/apps, Virtual Private Network (VPN), basic audio/visual equipment, installing/uninstalling software from machines and others.

Troubleshooting issues over the phone, in person, and over email via various engagement methods (phone, in-person, email, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

Logging/documenting tickets for technical issues and/or requests.

Processing requests for technological hardware, such as laptops, desktops, and smart.

Replacing/repairing computer hardware, such as hard drives, memory, batteries, etc.

Setting up and/or moving computers/technological hardware between offices.

Coordinating tasks/resolutions with other technicians/teams.

Provide in-person conference room support.

Escalating calls that are beyond tier-one scope to other resolver groups

Writing communications (emails) to the organization about scheduled events (software maintenance, outages, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of Information Technology experience performing user support of desktop, legacy systems, and/or Information Technology communications systems.

Education and Experience: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.

License/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License

Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
