A Water Systems company based in Jacksonville, FL, is looking to fill a Controls Design Engineer position! The Engineer is responsible for designing and modifying electrical control systems for industrial applications, particularly within the Water/Wastewater industry.
Pay: $33.65-$37.50/hr
Shift: 8am - 5pm
Location: South Jacksonville
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Design low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems, including single line diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, and electrical plans.
Select hardware components appropriate for motor control centers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), transformers, generators, and distribution panels.
Analyze project requirements and create customized control solutions aligned with ECS Control Systems' standards.
Develop and maintain comprehensive equipment specifications and documentation.
Perform electrical system studies and calculations, such as load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies.
Conduct field inspections and attend system start-up activities to ensure system integrity and proper functionality.
Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers.
Review and evaluate project concepts, objectives, and customer requirements to inform the design process.
Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, managing deadlines and technical deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, field services, and clients.
Position Requirements
An effective employee in this position will demonstrate the following:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in electrical controls design, preferably in the Water/Wastewater industry.
Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD and performing electrical systems analysis.
Supervisory or project management experience is a plus.
Field service or startup support experience is highly desirable.
