Job Title: Business Development Specialist
Location: Moreno Valley, CA
Territory Coverage: San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, and Orange Counties
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $65,000–$85,000 annually (Depending on Experience)
Base salary provided during the initial 3–6 months, followed by eligibility for performance-based bonuses and commissions.

Position Summary
The Business Development Specialist will be primarily responsible for generating new business through a combination of inside and outside sales strategies. This includes cold calling, lead generation, appointment setting, product presentations, and contract negotiations. The role involves frequent local travel to meet with prospective clients and periodic overnight travel to attend industry trade shows and networking events.
This position targets small- to mid-sized businesses such as donut shops, coffee shops, and vendors at farmers markets. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic plans to identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory
Conduct cold calls, respond to inbound leads, and schedule face-to-face meetings with potential clients
Deliver persuasive product presentations and provide samples to prospective customers
Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of service
Maintain detailed records of client interactions using CRM software
Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and other industry functions (quarterly/semi-annual travel required)
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitor activities within the packaging industry
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in business development, sales, or account management
Prior experience in the packaging industry is highly preferred
Proficiency in using business software such as QuickBooks and/or NetSuite
Strong familiarity with social media platforms for marketing and outreach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly motivated, personable, and resilient with a strong desire to learn and grow
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Willingness to travel locally on a daily basis and overnight on occasion for trade shows
