UX Designer/Illustrator

Are you a visual storyteller with a passion for elegant, modern UI design?

RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a UX Designer/Illustrator to join for an approximate 3-month project!

This position is fully on-site in Seattle, WA, you must currently reside in the greater Seattle area for consideration.

In this role, you will collaborate with a team of world-class multi-disciplinary designers to invent and deliver the core UX/UI building blocks that align and extend the experience across all products. You will concept, illustrate, and craft unique and compelling visual designs for our client’s product experiences, collaborate with interaction designers, researchers, engineers and product managers through the design and development lifecycle. As a tastemaker and storyteller, you will advocate for design excellence – contribute to product vision, and define visually compelling UI designs for experiences.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a keen eye for elegant, modern design, and UI patterns as a bar raising UX illustrator. You think holistically, and craft the "why" of all that our client ships – advocating for your design solutions by putting them in context of business and customer goals. You have an understanding of visual systems and best practices, including layout, typography and have a curiosity and eye for pushing visual design in interfaces forward. You are engaged in both visualizing an experience in the abstract and driving that vision into concise deliverables and hands-on building with engineering teams. You can present your ideas confidently in the creative reviews, inspire innovative design solutions, and a passion for elevating the visual experience of millions of customers around the world.

As a UX Designer/Illustrator, You Will

Craft scalable UX illustrations across products through a systematic lens.

Partner with senior leadership, designers, and engineering to produce beautiful UX Illustrations in a highly iterative shipping environment.

Present concepts to design audiences with strong storytelling and taste making skills.

Evolve illustration frameworks for future innovation.

As an Applicant, You Bring

3+ years of design experience

A well-crafted portfolio that demonstrates experience creating UX Illustrations Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent design-related field

2+ years of experience as a visual UI designer, interaction designer or similar role

Experience in a design tools such as Figma, Illustrator, and Adobe CC

Experience designing iconography within an established design system

Visual design expertise demonstrated through illustrated design concepts, case studies, documentation, mockups and style guides

Innovative, user-centered visual design solutions

Experience creating inspiring NorthStar design concepts that inform the future vision for a digital product

Experience collaborating with motion designers and illustrators

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Experience partnering with technical product and engineering partners for design implementation

Experience designing for mobile apps or other interactive digital platforms.

Ability to navigate ambiguity to drive the design cycle and multitask in an fast-paced environment

Compensation

Pay Range: $48.00 - $53.00 (Hourly)

The successful candidate’s pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.

Benefits:

Benefits and perks may vary depending on location and nature of the work, but eligible employees have access to medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D benefits, health savings and flexible spending accounts, other telehealth and wellness benefits, a minimum of seven paid holidays per year, accrual of at least 6.5 days (Temporary Employment) to at least 15 days (Regular Employment) of paid time off per year, a 401k plan with company match, discretionary bonuses dependent on company, team or individual performance, and referral bonuses for eligible hired referrals.
