Job Description
Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other machinery for valve parts manufacturing and refurbishment.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
Measure and inspect machined components to ensure conformance with tolerances using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
Perform machining tasks on valve components including bodies, stems, bonnets, and seats.
Repair or remanufacture worn or damaged valve components as needed.
Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and reporting issues for repair.
Collaborate with others to ensure machining work supports the overall repair and manufacturing process.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
Document work performed and follow shop documentation and quality procedures.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a machinist, preferably in an industrial or valve shop setting.
Proficient in operating manual and CNC machines.
Strong understanding of machining techniques, metal properties, and cutting tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of valve types and components is a strong plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
