Maintenance Manager - Long Term Care
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Long-Term Facility Maintenance Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance operations for a long-term care facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance of the facility s infrastructure, systems, and equipment while maintaining a comfortable and secure environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the facility s maintenance team, including assigning tasks, managing schedules, and evaluating performance.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and prolong the life of building systems and equipment.
Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, including procurement of parts, tools, and services.
Ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, etc.) are operating efficiently and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify issues and plan corrective actions.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for repairs, renovations, or specialized maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports for audits and regulatory reviews.
Stay current on state and federal facility regulations, particularly those related to healthcare or long-term care environments (e.g., CMS, OSHA, ADA).
Lead response efforts in emergency situations such as power outages, floods, or equipment failures.
Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to ensure facility conditions support resident well-being and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, with at least 2 years in a healthcare, long-term care, or similar environment.
Certifications: Certified Facility Manager (CFM), HVAC certification, or other relevant certifications a plus.
