Role Overview:

The Deputy Director of Development is a key leadership role, advancing The Village Groups fundraising and resource development. This position focuses on major gifts, strategic partnerships, and capital campaign management to ensure the organizations long-term sustainability. The Deputy Director also oversees marketing and communications to amplify visibility and donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Major Gifts and Capital Campaign (50%):

Develop and execute a major gifts strategy targeting high-net-worth individuals, corporate partners, and foundations.

Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to solicit significant gifts, with a focus on six- and seven-figure contributions.

Lead a comprehensive capital campaign to support strategic priorities, including the Plantersville Cultural Complex.

Implement donor engagement plans and deliver compelling presentations to secure transformative investments.

Strategic Partnerships and Donor Engagement (30%):

Cultivate and maintain relationships with diverse funding partners, including corporations, foundations, and government entities.

Implement recognition strategies to foster a culture of gratitude and accountability.

Manage donor database systems for accurate records and stewardship.

Marketing and Communications (15%):

Oversee the development of a strategic communications plan to elevate The Village Groups impact.

Create compelling materials for donor outreach, including annual reports, campaign collateral, and digital content.

Leadership and Organizational Development (5%):

Collaborate with leadership to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.

Submit weekly progress reports by 5pm every Friday, highlighting key activities, completed tasks, and barriers.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, Communications, or a related field (CFRE preferred).

5-7 years of fundraising experience with proven success in securing major gifts and managing capital campaigns.

Strong strategic planning, project management, and communication skills.

Proficiency in donor management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range: $63,500 - $70,000 annually.
