Threader Operator (Extrusion Dept) 1st Shift
$15.00/hour
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate a CNC machine to thread ceramic cores and inspect product for defects in accordance with the standard operating procedure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow documented job specific work instructions.
Ability to learn how to operate the extruder, grinder, threader, and saw safely.
Visually inspect the product while performing the operation and identify defects.
Maintain the required process documentation and paperwork daily.
Produce quality ceramic rods/cores, meeting production goals and quality requirements.
Communicate any issues to your Lead Person and/or Supervisor and Engineering immediately.
Keep all equipment and work area clean and organized.
Communicate effectively with lead person, supervisor, and fellow operators.
Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 6S activity.
Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations.
Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Good communication skills and mechanical aptitude needed
Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
Willingness to cross-train in other company job functions is expected
Excellent attendance & dependability a must
Set-ups may be required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift (plus overtime, when required)
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices;
and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
