Support the Facility Manager by safely operating mobile equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and other yard-based or project-deployed machinery. In addition to equipment operation, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating third-party vendors who perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all mobile equipment. The role ensures that all mobile equipment remains in safe, operational condition and fully compliant with regulatory and company requirements. Responsibilities also include support for equipment mobilization, demobilization, logistics, and asset tracking.
The duties and responsibilities of the Crane Maintenance Coordinator are, but not limited to:
Operate cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment as required for yard and project support activities.
Coordinate and manage all third-party maintenance, repair, and inspection services for mobile equipment.
Maintain an accurate maintenance schedule for each piece of equipment and ensure timely execution of service work.
Review third-party maintenance proposals, scopes, and documentation for alignment with Delmar Systems standards.
Validate completion and quality of third-party work prior to equipment release or deployment.
Track and store maintenance records, certifications, and equipment documentation in the asset management system.
Conduct pre-use and post-use inspections to identify and report equipment concerns or operational issues.
Ensure mobile equipment is properly staged, inspected, and secured prior to mobilization or demobilization.
Communicate regularly with the Facility Manager on equipment availability, downtime, and maintenance needs.
Ensure all equipment operations comply with applicable safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
Assist with the receiving, preparation, and dispatch of equipment in accordance with job orders and loadout lists.
Maintain clean and organized staging, operating, and maintenance areas.
Competency Requirements:
The Mobile Equipment Coordinator & Operator must meet the following minimum requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years experience operating cranes, forklifts, and similar mobile equipment in an industrial or yard environment.
Experience coordinating third-party maintenance or vendor services for heavy equipment.
Valid and current certifications for equipment operation (e.g., NCCCO crane operator, forklift license).
Basic mechanical understanding of mobile equipment systems (e.g., hydraulic, electrical) to identify issues and coordinate appropriate service.
Familiarity with asset management software and maintenance tracking systems.
Rigging qualification and general rigging knowledge.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational and communication skills
