Job Duties – What You’ll Do
Operate various commercial refuse trucks safely and efficiently:
Automated Side Load (ASL)
Front Load (FL)
Roll-Off (RO)
Collect waste from residential and commercial customers on assigned routes
Use onboard computer system to track and verify service completion
Read and follow route sheets or GPS routing provided by dispatcher
Load and secure trash bins or containers, ensuring proper placement for lifting arms
Use hydraulic controls to lift and empty containers into truck hopper
Safely maneuver truck through narrow streets, alleys, and congested areas
Exit cab as needed to reposition bins, clean up spills, or secure areas
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicle and report any maintenance needs
Refuel and maintain truck cleanliness, inside and out
Monitor container conditions and report damage, overages, or unsafe conditions
Work independently while maintaining courteous, professional service
Comply with all company, local, state, and federal safety regulations and policies
Job Requirements – What You’ll Need
Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement – Required
Clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
Ability to lift and move up to 50+ lbs repeatedly
Comfortable working in all weather conditions
Ability to climb in and out of truck cab multiple times per day
Familiar with basic vehicle inspection, fueling, and preventative maintenance
Strong sense of safety, responsibility, and customer service
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Must pass:
DOT drug screening
Criminal background check
Motor vehicle record screening
