Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3 pm

Position Summary:
The Painting/Assembly/Material Handling Flex Role is a versatile position within the Industrial Welding Department at Baker Manufacturing. This team member will support multiple production functionsapplying protective coatings to welded components, assembling industrial products to specification, and handling materials for internal and external flow. This flexible role is ideal for candidates with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
Key Responsibilities:
Painting (Approx. 3040%):
· Prepare and clean metal components for painting (e.g., degreasing, masking, sanding).
· Apply industrial coatings using spray equipment and other methods as specified.
· Monitor paint quality, thickness, and cure times to ensure proper finish.
· Maintain a clean and safe paint booth and equipment.
Assembly (Approx. 3040%):
· Assemble welded subcomponents into finished products using hand and power tools.
· Interpret basic assembly drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
· Inspect assembled products for conformance to quality standards.
· Support rework or disassembly as needed.
Material Handling (Approx. 2030%):
· Move raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods within the department using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
· Assist with staging and kitting parts for welders, painters, and assemblers.
· Support inventory accuracy by properly labeling and storing parts.
· Load and unload parts for transport or further processing.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· 12 years of manufacturing experience preferred; experience in painting, assembly, or material handling is a plus.
· Forklift experience and/or certification preferred (training available).
· Ability to read work instructions and basic blueprints.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a production environment.
· Willingness to cross-train and rotate among tasks as needed.
